Visiting this website
The website uses no advertising, tracking cookies, remote fonts or third-party video embeds. Its images, videos and scripts are all served from this website itself. Links to external services only take you there when you choose to follow them.
If you change the accessibility settings (motion, text size or contrast) in the menu at the top of every page, or pause the animations, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so it applies on every page. It never leaves your device. Choose Reset in that menu, or clear this site’s data in your browser, to remove it.
This website runs on a server we rent from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a data centre in Germany. To deliver a page, the server necessarily receives technical data from your browser, such as your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser’s identification. We use this only to answer the request and keep no access logs. Hetzner processes it on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Article 28 GDPR). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Counting visits
To see how many people visit and which pages they read, we use Umami, an open-source analytics tool that runs on our own server. No analytics data goes to anyone else. Umami sets no cookies. For each page view it records the page address, the website you came from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and country, which it derives from your IP address. It also counts clicks on the Coming soon button and openings of the seat-selection film. Your IP address itself is not stored: to recognise repeat visits without identifying you, Umami combines it with your browser identification and a secret value that changes regularly, and keeps only the resulting code. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, nothing is recorded. The statistics are kept while this website runs and are not shared. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding the website’s reach (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR); you can object at any time using the contact address above.
Your media-server connections
Kinemavision connects to the Jellyfin, Emby and Plex accounts you choose. Jellyfin and Emby credentials are used to sign in to the selected server; Plex sign-in uses Plex’s authorization flow. Saved access tokens and connection details are kept in the device’s Keychain. Your server and, where applicable, Plex receive the requests needed to authenticate, browse and stream your media, including your IP address, app/device information, media selections, and playback progress.
The server operator and relevant service control their own accounts, logs and retention. Kinemavision does not send your media library or credentials to a developer-operated service. Use HTTPS when connecting to a server over the internet. Plex’s processing is described in its privacy information.
Data on your device
Preferences, library selections, trailer history and cinema diary entries are stored on your device. Entries may include a film’s title, artwork, date, rating, row, seat and auditorium. In builds with iCloud enabled, diary tickets can also sync through Apple’s CloudKit service. If iCloud is unavailable, the app falls back to local storage. Device backups may include app data, depending on your Apple settings.
Screen-light sampling, visual credits detection and the head-position information used to align the auditorium are processed on the device. Kinemavision does not upload those video samples or tracking data to the developer.
Kinema Link and Apple TV
The optional companion discovers and pairs with your Apple TV on the local network. Pairing establishes keys for encrypted communication. The apps exchange playback information and the information needed for the Apple TV to open the selected media from your server. The Apple TV’s timeline keeps the headset’s picture aligned with its audio. The companion is an additional device accessing your media server; that server may log those requests. The link does not require a developer-operated relay.
Apple services and beta feedback
Apple handles app distribution and any StoreKit transactions. The developer does not receive payment-card details. During TestFlight testing, Apple makes crash reports, usage information and feedback available to the developer. Depending on how you join and what you submit, this may include your name, email address, device information, screenshots and comments. These are used to diagnose issues and improve the app. See Apple’s TestFlight privacy notice.
Support, retention and deletion
If you contact support, your email address and message are used to respond. Migadu hosts this mailbox; see Migadu’s privacy policy. Support correspondence is reviewed when an enquiry closes, and deleted when it is no longer needed for the enquiry or applicable legal obligations. You may ask for deletion at any time using the contact address above.
Local preferences and history remain until you clear them or remove the app’s data. Diary entries and trailer history can be deleted in the app. Remove saved accounts before uninstalling, because Keychain entries can survive app removal. These actions do not delete server records or Apple backups.
Processing needed to provide requested app features and support relies on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; maintaining reliable services and diagnosing faults relies on Article 6(1)(f). Independently held data at Apple, Migadu, Plex and hosting providers follows their own retention rules. These providers may process data outside the EEA under the safeguards described in their notices.
Your rights
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may complain to a supervisory authority, including Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen. Kinemavision does not sell personal data or use it for advertising profiles or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
